 Growth question
At what age do young beardies generally stop growing? My beardie is approximately 10 mos. old, and in good health. He’s about 16-17 inches long. Is he going to get any bigger? I was at the pet store last night and saw a male beardie that was just huge, although I don’t know how old he was. This dragon was way bigger than my little guy in every way: longer, bigger body, head, etc. Thanks for your help.

to me, your beardy actually sounds huge, especially since he is less than a year old! i’m not sure when he will stop growing, i am sure the age varies. my bearys are about 2 years old, and one is only about 8 inches long! the others are around 20 in. but, since they can live for up to ten years, i am guessing that they will most likely stop growing when they are 3-5 years old, but that is just a guess

Why do you have a two year old that is only 8" long? I don’t mean this in a rude way, but you don’t know these basic things and you are breeding? Anyway, they reach their adult size in 1 1/2-2 years. They grow all of their lives, but it’s such a small amount it’s not really noticable. It sounds like your guy is young, so he hasn’t filled out yet, he is just long. They don’t all get huge, so it is possible he has finished his length and will fill out, or he could get even longer.

This is strange but I got my baby Beardie last Monday and I measured him/her and Drake was 4 1/2 and now he’s 5 inches, he grew a lot in a week.
