 Possible Albino Baby??
| When my recent clutch hatched, one baby came out bigger and lighter than all the others...I mean all of the babies vary in shades, but mine are standard color. This particular baby was almost twice the size of the other hatchlings (in the smallest egg of them all to boot) and his legs and body are sooo long! But the color...I instantly thought albino. I did a little bit of google search and he does not have red eyes, but the nails are clear unlike the other babies and he has no black in him, but his gold is more vibrant. I don’t have a pic at the moment with good clarity...I will take one tomorrow...but my question is "What are the characteristics of an albino dragon?" As you can tell I was unable to get much help off google...has anyone reading this ever produced such a baby?? |

| Albino dragons are kind of the holy grail of dragons. Noone has been able to get them to live yet to produce more, I only know of 2 clutches ever produced. If it doesn’t have red eyes, it’s not albino sorry. It may be yellow hypomelanistic though (lack of black) and they are very pretty. Hypo is a simple recessive trait so both parents would have to carry it for it to show through in any offspring. I’ll be able to tell you better after seeing a pic. Sean

Not very good quailty, but this is the only pic I have until tomorrow. If you can see him...it’s the baby in the corner which is obviously lighter than the others...

I agree, he does look pretty basic in this pic..I’m using a cell phone cam, so until I take a better pic...
But I’m sure you’re right, he must be one of those hypos. If you could see it in person, he is very different from the others, but the lack of red eyes confirms it...thanks Sean : ) |

Ok I found a better pic...it’s much clearer, but the cell cam made him look a bit greenish (has an auto dimmer)
