| It may help to put her in a bath and then try to feel for eggs. I really do think that egg bulges should be visable around the time she is ready to lay. How do you have your lay box set up? |

| I am having a similar problem. My girl laid a little over a month ago, then I swore I felt eggs like 10 days later. Now she’s huge again, and digging in her substrate, but I feel no eggs anymore! Nothing! No bulges, or anything, but showing all the other characteristics! Wondering if I should try putting her in with her lay box anyway for a couple days and see if she pops something out? Maybe a small clutch this time or something? |

| Were the ones she laid unfertile or fertile? I had one lay 17 one day and the rest during the next 3 days one here one there but they were all unfertile... Michael J

| All are fertile. I was using the homemade incubator at first and two were in a corner that was cooler and less humid and they started to shrivel and discolor. I since have put them in the hovabator, they re-filled back into shape and have less discoloration, but are smaller than the others. All have veins when being candled, even the two that I expect not to hatch. I think I may put sarah back in the lay tank for a couple days and see if she starts digging. She digs like crazy in the rabbit pellets, so I may as well, but you think she may or may not be gravid again? |

| I personally would put her in a laybin. She may have cramped up during the delivery or was to tired. Has she ate since she laid the first bunch of eggs? I would keep my eye’s on her!!! Good luck P.S. Thank You for your compliment about my Dragon Hotel. Made my Day Michael J

| No prob, its a cool lookin set-up, doesn’t look like it takes alot of space for how many you can house. Good job! She seems really healthy, been eating fine, active, basking, the works. I’ll put her in the lay box cage tomorrow, gotta get the soil moist again, etc. Let ya know how it works out. If she seems uninterested in the box after 24 hours, I’ll put her back in her cage. |

| How do you heat your laybox? If its with a bulb! I use a crazy meathod, I use a human heat-pad set it about half high. Check it, each varies. And put it under the tote on a corner, I bet anything she lays there. It helps 2 ways, #1 You know where the egg’s are. #2 If you cant get to them for a while, at work. Heat rises, and the bulb hits the surface and disapates before reaching the bottom of the laying substrait. SO you know there going to stay warm enough.. Well hope this may help you with sarah Michael J |

| It’s very normal for girls to stop eating before they lay. Try picking her up by the base of her tail, leave her arms on the ground, this will flatten her out and you should be able to see the bulges in her belly. Without seeing her, I would say she is gravid and will lay pretty soon, she is showing all the right signs. I can’t remember if you said what substrate your using or not but usually like to use moist dirt in the lay bin. Don’t compact it too much and starting her a small hole sometimes works. Just pile it on a slope on one side of the bin and point a light at it. Sean

Am i missing something
When my female laid her first clutch, she had hardly put on any weight, and I could definately not feel any eggs, even in water. But sure enough, 3 weeks after mating, she stopped eating, and started digging frantically. She didn’t lay for 1 more week after that. It was a small infertile clutch of 10 (2 are actually left in the incubator but have not grown-and it’s been 3 months now). She was just recently pregnant with her 2nd clutch. And this time, she put on 30 grams (was she fat! Hehe), and I could now feel the eggs. But, she’s been on antibiotics for the last month and went in for surgery last week to have her toe amputated, and with all that, has reabsorbed the eggs. Which made sense because she seemed to be gravid forever, and showed no signs of digging or loss of appetite. And then, I could no longer feel the eggs anymore. Apparently, even for unknown reasons, some BD’s may reabsorb their eggs rather then lay them. I just thought I’d post this info in case it’s helpful! |
