 Sick Baby

One of my 3 week old babies seems ill. I called the vets in the surrounding area and they are either booked or their exotic specialist is not in today. I think I might have to go at this one alone until I can get in there asap. Anyhow, it seems like the baby dragon might have eaten too many crickets yesterday (3/8") or something because this morning he’s plump and his head is pointing at the ground. His stomach pumps once every few min and he starts snapping his mouth -appears as though he might throw up, but can’t. Is there anything I can do otherwise? His colors look good, eyes are bright and he is walking around but I can tell something made him sick. I’ve got a shallow dish of water in there. He already had a bowel movement but he still seems ill. Any advice on what I can do for him in the meantime?

Give him a long warm bath, it will help speed up digestion. If he does throw up, give plenty of pedialite by syrenge to keep him hydrated (dehydration sets in fast and will kill). Not sure what’s upsetting his belly, 3/8" seems a bit on the large size but without seeing him and the crix it’s hard to say, as long as they are no longer than his head is wide that’s the general rule. Good Luck

UUUUUUMMMM I think 3/8 is way to big. Stick with 1/4 for the first 2 months. He might be choking. I hope he pulles thru, I hate to see them go without a chance!!! If he gets thru this you might want to pick up some baby food "Carrots" because his throat could be to sore to eat. I would keep an eye on him for awhile. Hope this helps

Wish him luck
