ARE HEAT ROCKS BAD??  some people where saying to take the heat rock out of the cage i am not sure can you tell me??brittney

ARE HEAT ROCKS BAD??  YES, beardies have no heat sensors on their bellys and most heat rocks get far too hot for them. Heat rocks are probably the worst invention ever for reptiles, there are a few out there with rheostats on the cords that are better but still no good for beardies. They do make nice basking rocks if you cut the cords and put them under the basking light though.Sean

ARE HEAT ROCKS BAD??  I unplug it just to be safe. If the fillement in the rock has shorted or is broken it won’t work but you still have live electricity pulsing through it. The chance is slim but if it were to get wet and be able to conduct up through your lizard it would be bad.Sean
