Can Xena breed? She is about a foot, but part of her tail is gone. She is a little over a year.....She just will not grow that much. Can I still try to breed her?

Can Xena breed? OMG NO WAY! Who told you they can breed at 8 months? They should be AT LEAST 18 months. They can become gravid at 8 months, but they SHOULD NOT be bred. It can be life threatening and/or shorten their lifespan if bred too early. They need time to finish growing and for their bones to fully calcify.

Can Xena breed? Ok, ya 18 months and preferably 300 grams at least. Also if she is just a small lizard you may want to consider never breeding her. There are many things that cause a small lizard and a lot of them are genetic and there is no way to rule out that the reasons for this one aren’t genetic. Sean

Can Xena breed? sounds fine. age and weight aren’t the only considerations (but the only ones that can be measured). Overall wellness of the animal has to be looked at also, as long as she’s good and healthy you should be fine.Sean

Can Xena breed? Amanda, I’m liking her name! Hehe! You can imagine my double-take when I read the title of your post!!!!! Did you just get her? And if so, congratulations! You deserve a healthy BD after what you just went through. And she’s very lucky to have you! It’s probably a good thing she’s not old enough to breed yet. Because now you get to spend some quality time with her getting her to know you. And you can make sure she’s good and healthy for when you do breed her. It also gives you time to completely prepare. And it was way more work then I originally thought it would be! Hehe!

Can Xena breed? Actually, I got her a year ago and she is in great health! The reason she dosen’t have her tail is cause her sibiling bit it off. She was the only one in the store and I felt so bad that I had to give her a home. Anyways, I probably will not breed her cause my males treat her like another male. Well, If you or anyone else knows of someone with a HEALTHY BD, then please let me know.......I would really like to breed one day...Thanks guys! Amanda.

Can Xena breed? There are adults for sale all of the time on reptibid and kingsnake. I’ve never purchased from reptibid, but I’ve gotten a lot from kingsnake.
