I keep my girls in the lay-box the whole time after I see that the eggs have passed through the shell gland.
I turn their lights on in the morning when I get up, along with my other BD"s.
I like to keep my top soil moist and at 83.5 degrees. I don’t have any pictures of my set up, but I will take some next time in use. May be someone will post a pictures of theirs. Wink! Wink! everyone.

I leave the light on as I would during the day. I have never had my female not lay when I put her in the laybox therefore I don’t know what people do at nighttime. My female has always laid in the evning time- got her bath and returned to her tank before dark. In the picture I thought I would use the plywood to hold the light when I first set it up then realized I could just use the screen top to her tank. I hope this helps.
