 About housing/breeding crickets

I only buy enough crickets to last my beardie about three days so that I can clean the container twice a week..However I want to start breeding them since it’s starting to get expensive..I know how to breed the crickets, but how do I clean the cage when there’s a ton of crickets in there??

 About housing/breeding crickets

Hey,

Here’s what I do. I have a 75 quart sterilite container where I keep my crickets. I put toilet paper cardboard rolls on one end and greens and oatmeal on the other. When it’s time to clean the container, I shake the rolls and make sure all the crickets are in the sterilite. Shake the container to one side and spray and clean that end really well. Then I place the new cardboard rolla on the clean side. The crickets start moving to the clean condos, and I take a little broom and dust pan I got at the dollar store; sweep into the dust pan, shake and move the few living crickets from the dust pan with my fingers to the container. Once I’ve swept it clean, I spray and clean that side before placing clean greens and oatmeal.
Others around here have two containers. They take the clean container and transfer the crickets to it. Then just dump the stuff from the dirty one into the trash can.
