 Hatchling Cages

Ok this is how we set up our cages for hatchlings. The pics do show a 10 gal on the end, we aren’t using our double stacks right now since we dont have very many babies yet this year. So this is what is lit up so its what ill use.

What we use for our basic setup:
4 20 gallon long tanks sides covered(blank printer paper in our case)
1 dual bulb 48" florescent fixture
4 light fixtures
plain white paper towels for substrate
short paver bricks or branches or both
100w basking lights
2 48" 10.0 uvb tubes
very shallow plastic lids for vegi’s and one for a very small amount of water
mesh to cover the cages and support the lights

Thats it. Thats all it is. This early i took the branches out of the 20’s and keep them with a 100w basking spot light, the 10 gal has a 75w and a branch no paver. I dont really recommend keeping babies in 10 gals, but there are 3 in there under observation. Next step im trying to find a tile that will fit the 20 long tank am going to line the bottom of the tank with tile, then paper towels. Any questions please ask

Thanx so much aswell Jay, I’ll probly write that down in a bit for sure :P I have to feed my Dragons, and give them their gourmet salads, and clean their tanks out. Then I have to feed all my other pets, clean more cages, clean my house. I guess you could call it house cleaning day for me! Joy. But I don’t mind cus I have nothing better to do. We also added a new pet to the fmaily today, its pretty neat, Desert Hairy Scorpion. So yea Thanx again Jay, talk to you guys later Woot!

Crystal & Babs Thanks i try :) I remember starting out no one had any ideas like this. I came up with setup a few years back and it works great. Ive built simple 2x4 stands that hold 4 20 longs on top and 4 on the bottom each group set up the same way works great. Just got done watering the dragons before bed & Sprayed the babies down. bout every one a eating machine now. Hey yeah Crystal.. the big silkworm place has silks back in now.. dont know how much youve read on them but they are nearly perfect feeders dont even need caci dust. Checking with them this week see how long these "new" eggs will last in cold storage might stock up. -Jay
