 Egg Hatching Problem

It may just be tired. When its nose/snout is the only thing poked through, the baby has pip’d its egg. You can mist the egg gently, avoiding the dragons face. If it has pip’d it is breathing oxygen now. Gently touch the egg and see if the baby moves. If you keep it moist it will be fine until it is ready to leave the egg. Some times they pip early, but sit in the egg until the yoke absorbs. Try to stay positive. Worst case is its a still-hatch, or died while hatching. This does sometimes happen during hatching. We lost one this way out of our first clutch of the year. Hope this helps -Jay

 Egg Hatching Problem

Thank you bama. Ive just misted the egg avoiding the slit in the egg, the lizard isnt moving and im pretty sure that it is its back poking through the hole not its nose so im pretty sure its still born. How long does it take for all the eggs to hatch as i have another possible 10 to hatch now and a bit worried. The first baby hatched 2 days ago, the second yesterday. Many thanks for your advice

 Egg Hatching Problem

You can open the egg yourself if you think it is stillborn. just be careful it could still be alive. Our last clutch took 6 days to hatch from start to finish. It could be a week or more. Dont give up on them yet! :) -Jay
