 OK 3 days in...

All right.. so after getting the Perlite and the Hovabator to work right.. I had the vents open.. Things are looking GREAT!!! ALL eggs are back to "normal" except 2 that look like they are about to mold over. I am giving them till the morning till I toss em.

So... I candled them..and it looks like out of the remaining 20..we have 17 fertile! Is this good.. Is it a good sign to see it this early?!?!? I am seeing veins and on a few a dot...

I’m very glad to hear that your eggs are back to normal ! do you think the misting helped? i found that it helped me big time. Bama beardies knows wat hes talking about, so if you ever need any advice, and want a real answer, post all yur messages to Bama beardies. I could probly help you too from whatever I leaned from him :P It is deffinetly a good sign that your eggs have veins and some red spots. make sure that when you take the ones your going to throw away out, you freeze them just incase they might possibly fertile. Other than that, good job and good luck on your eggies !

Thanks.. and yes.. MISTING!!! I fully support it.. that and I didnt have good moisture in there before.. it was always sitting at 47%.. it was becuase I had the top vents open.. DUH! so now.. it is still low.. at 76% just about all the time.. I have ALL the channels full AND an extra container, the sandwiche containers, full of water in it too.. it still wont go up.. and yes.. Im using a digital.. so I’m pretty sure it is acurate. I don’t know what else to do about that..

Otherwise.. Things hopefully will go great.. and in a few months we will have some more babies hatching around here..

If this is succesful.. I have concidered getting some reds.. I LOVE the reds.. especially Chris Allens reds.. what do you guys thing? Is it worth it to make ti a full blown hobby?!?! I will odviously have to get a bigger incubator... but I have a whole room dedicated to it..so why not right?!?!

Yea i totally fully support the misting too. it works wonders. my girl just layed her second clutch of 26 more eggs this morning. so im pretty happy about that. as long as all the channels are full, your humidity should stay between 70 and 80%. when you notice the channels about half empty, just fill them all back up with clean dechlorinated water. and make sure you check the dampness of your egg container vermiculite. if it seems like its getting dry, pour warm dechlorinated water in between all the eggs, and all over the vermiculite, not too much water tho. U dont need to get your humidity any higher. Mines at the same. So far your doing a good job! :) Good luck and keep us posted on yur eggs :)

Yea the reds are very nice colored. I’m tryin to find a red. never really seen any of the chris allen reds tho, ill have to look around some more. Breeding id deffinetly a great hobby, but its also very serious, and cost alot of money. But if you have the room and money, yur probly good to go. :P
