this unit hold the set temp day and night. cost around 200 to build and after i add some more shelves should hold around 500 eggs

The sandwich container on the shelf below the eggs appears to be water. Nice looking incubator. I am assuming that the "wire" at the bottom, on the insulators. is the heat source.

yes the container in the middle is filled with water and thats a heat coil in the bottom.
this unit holds temps great.

I did the same thing (only used party bulbs for the heat source):

I’m always looking for a store to be tossing out an old cooler like that to make another incubator.

Hey "Bama beardie" your all the hype on kingsnake,lol. I have a questions that I dont think has been answered on another page but it get talked about alot. I have an incubator WITH a fan,If I ever do decide to breed my babies will it work? I used it back in my hatching fancy chicken faze, when/if I do decide to do it way,way down the road, what do ya think?

Several of our larger incubators have fans, some of the smaller ones don’t. the fan seems to keep the temp a little more stable, but the water in the tray evaporates quicker. either type will work for beardies. -Jay
