Ahh what are tiny white bugs...?

Ok I have been raising my own lobster roaches for 2 years.. Well I broke down and ordered 1,000 superworms about 2 weeks ago for my female dragon who has laid eggs..

I also fed some to my 11 baby box turtles, well NOW there is very very tiny white bugs every where I means thousands up on thousands just piles of them over all my turtle tank and the roaches tank under the turtles, you can just barely see them.. WHAT ARE THEY? Could it be mites or parasites?

I don’t know what either look like, but I’m freaking out. I’m about to cry I don’t want those nasty things all over the place in my house or on my pets... And I have a feeling they are some bad news and I will have to kill out all my roaches and supers and start all over...

Has anyone ever had these tiny white bugs????

I have no clue what they are...I hope everything turns out ok...I read this last night and wanted to respond today to let you know I was awaiting a suggestion from other people. Did you notify who you received the supers from? Let us know...B

Thanks, we did some research online for many hours last night and we found a few posts about people talking about them with pic’s and from what I seen it is what I have and they think it came from their potting soil they got for their house plants! So I don’t know I’m lost, but still trying to find answers lol..

Can you post pics of these little critters? Maybe, maybe not but I hope its ok and does not cause you to get rid of your feeders. Perhaps if you can post pics it will help us all to know by appearance the little culprits !! Lol. Take care B

Do they fly, or just crawl? I have had gnats before, which were just annoying not a threat. A friend of mine had tiny white bugs in her supers and eventually threw them out since she had no clue.

Maybe you can clean them out? Could you pick out the supers and put them in a fresh container with fresh substrate? What substrate are you using? I use oats for mine.

You know, that chicken mash could also be the culprit. All of my substrate as well as feed, like oats, bran flakes, chicken mash, mousie food, rat food, bird food . . . all of it, I initially put it in the freezer. That kills off any crawlies and the eggs that might be in it. Haven’t you ever opened a box of cereal, and there was webs and bugs in there? Ewwww, ok, so I throw cereal in my freezer as well now!

How many supers are there? Can you just pick them out, and put them in a clean container with fresh substrate?

Whatever you do...if you use poison of ANY kind...and this is VERY important...ensure your beardies enclosures are FAR away. They are incredibly sensitive to toxins in the air. I once had an incredibly sick beardie due to an air spray that was used in the next room. Remember, poison WILL g into the air...so keep your beardies VERY far away.
