Eggs hatching really need some help!!!

my first bearded dragon egg has just begun 2 hatch its been sitting there for quite some time now and im not really sure what i need to do. Is there a possibility that it may not make it? Should i help it out of the shell? im not really sure of the mothers past history i bought her at a pet store and a week later she had eggs on me so could that have any effect on the egg? please help i really dont know what to do. Thanks.

No expert but someone will be with you soon.... when did it start to hatch? And did you have in some type of incubator? I would let it hatch itself and dry alittle. Do you have a second enclosure with lights setup? You may want to get that prepared for your babies. How many eggs do you have and are they all hatching??

Somone will be with you soon. Just hang in there you will be fine.

Congrats by the way.!!!!!!!!!

I am no expert either, but do not help it out of the egg, if they aren’t strong enough to make it out on their own they usually aren’t strong enough to make it in life. Sometimes it can take a day to get out of the egg, it is hard work. They will lay and look dead almost or as if they are dying, but they are resting, because as I said it’s a lot of work getting out of that egg!

I do know this 1 little crickets. The eat lots of those. Well feed them a few times aday as many as they can eat in 15 minutes. Well hope you have fun let us know how things go. And e-mail me through my profile and I will send you some cage plans incase you keep a few it can save you some money to build instead of buy new cages.

Yes small crickets only 1/4 inch, pinheads are too small. It’s also good to get them eating greens early in life. Keep them on paper towels or nothing and you can just put the tiny bits of green right on the floor and that way they will see it and be more curious as to what it is! I think the bare floor is too slippery but the paper towels would work well for that. Also be sure to supplement them with vitamins and calcium. I’m watching my eggs like a hawk, they should start hatching any time now, they’ve been sweating for a couple of days now. Good Luck!

Congratulations!!!! Through my experience with new little hatchlings, just let them come out on there own. It sometimes will take hours even a couple days. I made the mistake of removing one from it’s egg after 24hrs & it lived for a few weeks, but never was strong enuogh for some reason. Probably due to my impatientness. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck!!

The egg finally hatched around 7 this morning i didnt see it happen i dozed off around 5 and missed it! but i immediately took the little lizard out and placed it in a plastic container w/ moist paper towels and a heat lamp. but i read some where that i should have left it in the incubator is that true? i also read that the hatchlings dont eat for a few days but i cut up some green leef letuce any way. is it still 2 early for crickets or should i be giving them to it right now? Its pretty active not really slugish but it has been sleeping quite a bit and if theres anything im missing or doing wrong please give some advise thanks again!

Yes give crickets. and greens. Never to early to give greens. But crickets are the diet at first. This is what I have been reading all over this site.
