Actually anywhere around 60 days. I have heard that they can hatch at 48 days, but I have never known anyone who have had them hatch that early. Usually 60, 61, 62 or 63 days tends to be the average. Most of mine hatched at 61 and 62 days.

Hey Jeff, What temps do you incubate at? I have heard some breeders who incubate higher than 82-84 degrees? Have you noticed on some of the other forums? Thanks Jeff, Beth

beth
i incubate at 88 degrees. no the babies dont come out small or deformed.
if you are going to us a high temp like i do there are other things that need to be done. you cant just put the eggs in a container like if you where going to use a huvbator.

if you need call me and i will help you out.

thanks jeff hunter

if you can see them moving in the egg then you must be useing a flashlite. thats whey they are moving. the lite is shocking them. leave them alone and let them be. they will hatch when its time.

 When will they hatch?

I was told to check them with a light to see if they are fertile and still alive. So I was checking them about once a week. And the last time I looked was about a week ago and I seen a few move, that’s why I’m asking on here. When I seen something move I was like woooo omg is it time already.

I have never picked them up out of the incubator or even touched them since the day they were laid...

And I’m wondering when my female will lay more eggs...

 When will they hatch?

Your female can lay eggs again within 20 days of laying the first clutch. However, usually it is around 30 days. She can lay repeatedly every 20 to 30 days for up to a year. So be prepared. My one female laid 5 clutches of eggs in 5 months. At that point she prolapsed her uterus and I had to rush her to the vet. They ended up spaying her, as she would have continued to lay eggs for the rest of the year. She had an over active reproductive system. You might say she took her egg laying job way too seriously!!!! I am just glad that she is alive and well, even if there will be no more babies.

 When will they hatch?

They have been in the incubator for 57 days now? So isn’t it close to time for them to hatch, like in a few days or can they go like another 20 days? Like I said we seen them moving... I’m getting excited but also scared o.0

I am supposed to put them in a tub with a wet paper towl right and leave them in the incubator for 2-3 days???

And how do you keep 16 babies from nipping each other’s tails and toes, I’m so worried???

 When will they hatch?

You need to break them up into groups of no more than 5 per tank. That will keep the tail nips down.

They should start hatching at around 60 days. Some may go longer. Look for the eggs to start sweating. This is usually the per curser to them hatching, although not always.

It’s like day 62 and still no babies and no sign of them going to hatch soon! What’s up with that lol, they are still pretty small eggs, She only carried the eggs 18 days before she laid them will that effect anything?

 When will they hatch?

Eggs can take 75+ days sometimes. There are 3 big factors in rate to hatching - oxygen exchange, humidity, and temperature. It’s complicated, but if your eggs still look round and white, they will hatch when they are ready. Even if they hatch at night, the babies sit with just their heads poking out usually for a day or so. You wont miss it. Frequently the eggs do sweat with beads of water a day or so before hatching too. Good luck. Post pics when they start coming out.

Regarding nipping - it happens anytime you keep groups together. They’ll tag each other’s faces for crickets and tail tips etc despite most anything you do. That’s why you keep them in small groups, not one big group. It limits (never eliminates) the risk of it happening.

Thanks Krusty...

oxygen exchange = Good

humidity = Never below 75%

temperature = around 85

Yes they are all still plum and white all the babies are alive and moving..

Still waiting on the sweat beads...

I prolly check them more than I should..

Well I’m in trouble then, cause I don’t have that many setups my tanks are pretty big but about the best I can do is 7 in each tank. Or try to put my adult females together and stick some babies in one of their tank.. o.0

Can wait to see what colors they are going to be though, I’d like to see some red in them. Dad is bright orange with some red and yellow and the mom is a high bright yellow.. So what will I get??? :D

The babies usually are quite brown and dull. As they grow and shed they get prettier and usually will be some combination of the parents’ colors.

Ok so they have been in the incubator for 73 very long days.... Sooo I’m just wondering how long they can go? Have any of you ever had to wait like 80 days or more? What is the limit?

 When will they hatch?

Just got back from the airport and one baby has something sticking out, I’m guessing it’s a nose I didn’t want to keep the incubator open long enough to find out what it was...

WHAT DO I NEED TO DO NOW? Do I leave the heat the same? Someone said somewhere on here to cut the humidity back when they start hatching, is that true?

 When will they hatch?

Hey Josey, Exciting isn’t it...they slit the egg and then come out. Its really slow sometime, and then others will take less time. You can get sterilte tubs from Walmart-plastic tubs..but you have to have the UVB and heat light for every tub, and a way to measure the temps...I put my babies in individual containers on misted paper towels in the incubator for 24 hours before putting in baby tanks/tubs. You may not have the room to do so in your incubator as they hatch. The babies will be tired when they hatch. Some are feistier than others. Good luck.....Take care B Offer greens as soon as you put them in the tanks/tubs. It great to drop pieces from above on the paper towel where they can see it
