Collapsing Eggs Hi. My eggs have been in our incubator for 6 days and they have developed a gooey substance on them. Some have collapsed and look yuck. The eggs are sitting in damp but not wet vermiculite. Our temperature sits on 30 degrees (sorry I don’t know what that is in fahrenheit). They sit in a plastic container with the lid on (no holes in lid) and then the whole container sit in the incubator (holes in lid). I have gently wiped the gooey stuff off, but it keeps coming back. What should I do?

Collapsing Eggs Sounds like they may not be fertile. Anyone else?

Collapsing Eggs I agree, sounds infertile. Also, you need to have a few holes in the container you are incubating in. The eggs exchange gasses with outside air, and if they do not have some type of airflow, it will kill them. You also need to make sure you are opening the lid once a week to allow for complete air exchange.
