 Incubator Idea

This is an idea of making my own incubator. Incubators for sale in my country r LANK expensive and I was hoping all you more experienced people will be able to help.

I want to take a large coolerbox, put in 2 or 3 fishtank heaters. Then I want to drill 2 holes round about halfway up and then put 2 steel rods through it...I might make it 4 depending on the size of the cooler box. Then I will take a fairly large rubbermaid container that would fit into the coolerbox, drill sum holes in the bottom and fill it with vermiculite and then place it on the steel rods, suspending it over the water level. Then for a thermometer I will use a digital 1 with a probe and a normal humidity meter. I think this design should keep the temps pretty stable in a country where it gets up to like 110 during the day...and no airconditioning in sight :P. What do you all think, should this work?

You may want to look into a different type of heat source, like a heating pad or something of that nature. Typically, aquarium heaters will not work properly unless they’re submerged in a minimum of 5 gallons of water. When they’re used in air instead of water, they will overheat and burn out much faster than if they’re used properly.
