 Help beardie is laying eggs!

okay so my friends wife has a pregnant beardie, and asked me to get the eggs from her because they dont have an incubator so I did my research and bought hatch rite and deli cups that are about 1.7in high so I was wondering if hatchrite is good to use and how do I use it also are the deli cups high enough? I’m using a hovabator just to tell you.

Well it really doesn’t matter which kind of sharpie. I’d say fine tip would give you more precision.
I’m not even sure what hatchrite is? I use normal glad plastic containers filled half way with moist perlite (which you can buy at walmart).

Hey there, I use the sandwich containers with pencil size holes in the lids with vermiculite...perlite is ok too. I will post some pics...the Hatchrite I have seen on an incubator website and its not necessary. If you get perlite or vermiculite be sure its 100 % with no additives. Moisten it and keep it moist all during incubation. Watch humidity by being sure the condensation line in your containers are along the level of the substrate not above it. If excess condensation forms loosen your lids and let it dry out some for a few hours.

sharpiemarkers can be used. I just never got them to write good. I color code my kids with a dot of different colors of fingernail polish. And with a sharpie to write number 22-it can be difficult. One digit numbers ok but 2 digit numbers more difficult. I don’t know if they have that many different color sharpies.

I have pics of lay box, incubator, sandwich containers, etc. Let me know...Beth
