 Dancing Beardies

We have two beardies (not sure what sex) They are housed in stacked cages but when they do see each other, one does that neat wave thing with his arms and the other one bobs its head. Do these traits help us know what sex they are and is it a mad thing or a mating thing? They are not quite a year old yet. Thanks for any input!!
