Howdy y’all! Sorry I’ve been away so long, but I still check back occasionally.
I just wanted to let you all know that I just had a mating, unknown if it was successful yet, but I’m hoping for some hypo-trans babies in about three months.
If I can figure out my wifes camera I’ll post some pics of the babies around the first part of April.

Just wanted to update you. Tinkerbell just laid 25 eggs tonight. 2 look like slugs, the rest look great. But I shouldn’t count my draglings before they’re hatched.
I was a bit surprised due to the fact that it has been only 20 days since mating, she gestated quick. So I may have the pitter-patter of little claws by the end of March.

I can’t wait to see some photos, here in Australia believe it or not we have very little morphs regardless of the fact that they actuqally originated in Aus!! LOL

OOPS! I posted this on the wrong forum, but here goes.
Update on Tinkerbell’s first clutch. She laid a total of 25 eggs. 1 already went bad, 2 were slugs, and as of today the other 22 are all showing veins. Her and the boar are both double het for hypo-trans, so I should get about 10 that are trans or hypo-trans. I’m so stoked, it’s going to be awesome.

Update for all. I left the 2 slugs alone until I was positive, and 1 actually plumped up and turned pinkish, so that brings the count up to 23. I also candled them all last night and I saw movement in all 23 of them. This is going to rock, but I do not look forward to the food bill for all these vacuum cleaners with scales.

They’re hatching, I’m a mommy again, even though I’m a guy, I feel like a mommy. They are a whole range of colors. I have a couple very pale hypos, 1 with a blue tinge, a couple with green sidebars, a couple with pink diamonds, at least 1 perfect hypo-trans, and 2 possible anytheuristic translucents with clear nails. Seriously, they are almost jet black.
The camera needs batteries, so I will post pics later.
Right now I’m at 21 out of 25 eggs hatched or hatching, 2 already went bad, and the last 2 are iffy.
Question: Has anyone ever heard of, or seen, an anytheuristic translucent with clear nails? I haven’t, so I don’t know how common or rare they are. Anyone? Let me know.

That is awesome!! I tried to find you on face book but there were over 500 dean smith’s. I would really like to see what your babies look like. I am trying out the sandfire translucents this year but I just got a baby hypo het trans from lair of dragons for next year. I am really curious about the anery baby too.

Maybe not that many, but none of the others are The ODS, The Original Dean Smith!
I think you’ll be happy now. The first 2 are hypo-trans. The third is hypo with what appears to me to have a blue tint. The last 2 are two of my very dark ones, I actually have three of them. One pic is with a hypo to show color comparison. The crazy thing about them is they are trans (black eyes) with clear nails (hypo?) but are way dark. (anytheristic?)

Y’all aren’t going to freaking believe this! The 23rd egg, which due to coloration and the fact that it looked empty, is freaking hatching. That brings the total to 23 babies. This last one just decided to cook a little longer. My youngest daughter was the same way, just didn’t want to come out, so this one is probably going to be hers. We’re both very excited.

Unfortunately, the 23rd baby passed. It was thin and sickly and I was most likely going to have to put it down anyway, but it’s still heartbreaking.
On the bright side, I still have 22 beautiful draglings that are eating and pooping like there’s no tomorrow. 2000 crix a week. The fastest growing one has gained almost an inch already.
Lastly, the 2 I thought were hypo-trans decided to trick me and get brown in their claws, so they are trans het for hypo. Maybe my eyes are too bad and their claws are too small for me to see them clearly. That’s OK, they’re still gorgeous.

No retention this time. It was her very first clutch and I half expected more, but now 2 months after laying and nothing I’m not expecting more. I could be wrong, I did have, and still have, one that went about 60 days between laying. This one isn’t giving me indication of still being gravid, so I’ll just enjoy these and breed her sister next year.
