 Eggs stuck together....HELP!!!!

I have 2 questions. First my female just laid her third clutch and she laid 15 normal eggs and 2 sets that are stuck together. Is this normal to have eggs stuck together? And should I leave them alone or try to seperate them?

Second question is weather or not a female can lay her clutch too early. Reason that I ask is because her first clutch was fertile and 24 days later she laid her 2nd clutch and they were all infertile. The first clutch was laid in her cage because I didn’t know she was gravid, actually thought it was a male. The second clutch I put her in a laybox when she started digging in her cage. I wonder if the 2nd clutch was infertile because I put her in her laybox too soon?

 Eggs stuck together....HELP!!!!

Hi I don’t know if this will help or not but on another forum that I go to someone suggested to use a piece of dental floss and gently separate them. The person reported back to them that it worked perfectly. Again I have never used this only read on another forum. As far as the eggs our girl has laid 2 clutches and soon to be 3. I was told by several people that they lay when they are ready and to always give the eggs at least one week to see if they are for sure fertile and that nothing you do or don’t do will change that unless you rotate the eggs after being laid. Our first clutch is at 46 days so still a ways to go for us. How soon till your first clutch hatches?

The first clutch didn’t survive because the eggs were infested with some very small transparent bugs (looked like tiny slugs). I think the bugs came from the "Jungle Mix" that I got from the pet store.

 Eggs stuck together....HELP!!!!

Mine son used the last of the dental floss as string so I used a piece of thread and it worked fine. It does take a little time so that you don’t damage either egg. I was going to leave them together but 1 egg on each of the pairs didn’t look good and I was worried that it would effect the other egg that looks good.

Thanks for all the advise :D

Glad that it worked :) sorry to hear about your first clutch.Too bad they sold you that knowing you were using it for eggs. What did you put the eggs in this time? Do they appear to be fertile?

I’ve been using clean play sand for the laybox and moist vermiculite for the containers in the incubator. Out of the 19 eggs in this clutch 2 are bigger and more plump than the others and look really good and the rest look ok but so I can only wait and see what happens. I’ll see if I can get some pic’s to see what you guys think. The 2 eggs that are the biggest appear to be fertile because I can see little lines in them, the rest look solid yellow now but I’ll still give them a good week or so before I give up on them.

They do look good :) could you see the round spot and red squiggles on all of them? Some of them that are looking dented that is due to low humidity. When you get the humidity up they will plump back up if they are fertile. What is the temp you have in the incubator and what is your humidity?

The temp is 84 and the humidity is between 55 -60% I have the lids loosely on the containers now to try and bring up the humidity in there.

I only could see the round spots and squiggly line on the 2 that i took close ups of but they are not quite 24 hours old yet. So I’ll keep my fingers crossed for the rest of them.

That is the same temp we are at however we have to keep the humidity up around 80 or the eggs start to dent :( but we live in Nevada and it is dry. Can’t wait to hear the update on you eggs!

I have 4 sandwich size containers in the incubator, 2 with eggs and the other 2 filled with water. The spaces in the bottom of the incubator are also filled with water and the highest I can get the humidity is 60%. If anyone has any suggestions to get the humidity higher please let me know.

What is working so far for us is to have the bottom chamber full like you said and then I have 2 wet sponges that lay in on the rack. I re-wet them every other day at which point they are dry as a bone. This is the only way we can get the humidity up. Again desert here lol hope that helps :)
