Parazap....Has anyone used it? 
Has anyone here ever used Parazap? I’m thinking about purchasing some and getting all of my dragons on a schedule. I personally don’t know anyone that uses it, but I’ve heard of alot of people that do. I would like to know if it works, is it easy to administer, are there any tips on administering it? The vet did a fecal on some of my baby dragons (some have died) and he said the Coccidia count is high. He is unsure if that is the reason they are sick. He has given me Albon to treat them all. I keep all of the enclosures clean, how did the count get so high? Any help will be appreciated! Thanks,

Coccidia is part of their natural gut flora, they all have some all the time. It’s when they get physically stressed/sick that it can bloom and get out of control. Think of it like a yeast infection, it works about the same way. Albon is of course what is used to treat it back down to normal levels. Albon also has some nasty side affects, mainly dehydration. Be sure to give plenty of baths and push fluids throughout the treatment. Also simplify the cages as much as possible. Pull out all ornaments and if you don’t already have them on paper towels I’d move them on to them. A sterile clean environment is essential to get the coccidia back down. Cages will need cleaned several times a day. Parazap is some good stuff but it’s more of a preventative and not a treatment. The best way to use it is to make a tea out of it and then try to get them to drink it from an eyedropper (the stuff tastes like crap). You can also use it as a dust but if you do that use it more often to get enough in them. Sean

I don’t know, I’ve never had to use it on babies. Even if it does it would be better than dropping dead from coccidia though.Sean
