 Eggs hatching soon?

I have been candeling my eggs, without picking them up, and I can see some crazy movement! I see the tails wigging all around, and the heads turning. Today was the 48th day of incubation. I know im getting really anxious and curious, for when they will hatch. Im noticing that the eggs are staring to get darker colored, like sort of a purplish color. I’ve seen pictures of hatching eggs before, with that purplish color to them. Is this the lizard absorbing the part of the egg? And also, how many more days do you think estimated would I have left until they hatch?

thanks ~ Brett

I am curious too, my dragon laid eggs the same day as yours and my eggs are doing the very same thing. I hope they hatch soon.

 Eggs hatching soon?

I have another question. Is it necessary to keep a hatchling in a containor for 24 hours, on a moist towel?

Yes, keep them in a separate container with moist paper towels in the incubator for 24 hours. A lot of times when they hatch the egg sack won’t be fully absorbed yet and this gives it time to pull in without catching on anything. It also gives them a rest after hatching to recouperate, hatching is hard work lol. I answered the other question over on the general forum.
