 Hatching Question Please help

I woke up this morning to one of my eggs starting to hatch the head is sticking out of the eggs but the baby dragon appears to be dead. I checkd them last night before i went to bed, so it must of started hatching in the last eight hours. Is this normal for the head to be sticking out of the egg and the dragon to appear dead? or is there something wrong?

Completely normal. They sometimes (quite often) take a break in the middle of hatching to get up some energy to finish the job off. I’ve only had a couple die at this point so it’s pretty rare for that to happen. Also after it gets out it’s normal for them to appear dead for a while while they rest and recouperate.

Ya, I’d put a lid with holes on it. You don’t want them running around on the wire, especially if they haven’t absorbed their eggs sack all the way yet. You said moist paper towels right? Keep them in there for the first 24 hours and then you can move them into their tanks. I’d check on them a few times a day depending on how many are coming out and what stage they’re at.

Ya, its in there with moist paper towels and i just put a lid with holes over it. All the eggs went in on october 27. There are a few that look pretty close to hatching.

Ya, you’ll probably get a few today, the brunt of them in the next day or 2, and then a few straglers over a couple days after that. At least that’s how it generally goes. Take some pics and post them, they’re always so cute when they hatch. Congrats

 Hatching Question Please help

Wow Bigyaf37, it looks like your clutch beat mine at hatching lol. Hey what happend to your eggs right before they started hatching?
And I gotta stop candeling the eggs, cause it keeps messing with the temperature, and it isn’t following heartmountains conspiracy lol, which is if you candle the eggs one day, the babies will decide to stay in another day too. lol

Thanks
~Brett G.

Yeah it was 23 eggs before the power outage:( They started to dent and some changed color a bit before hatching. I find going to bed makes them hatch. Each one has hatched while im sleeping.

LoL... Still none....... The eggs are starting to get darker though and the temp is at 85. I can feel the time is coming very soon, hopefully lol. I candled one very quickly a couple of nights ago, and saw that they had gotten somewhat bigger than the first time I started to candle, and there was alot of movement also. I want to see a picture of your babies. Wish me some god lck for these damn eggs lol!
