Allister not a male what the heck need help asap

so recently I found out that the george is a jill several months ago and then I found allister on top of jill mounting her biting her i thought they were fighting at first but then I realized that they were mating and thats how we found out george is jill well I watched all this I can tell the 2 apart besides just size there colorings are different and they have slightly different markings, well if I saw allister on top of jill that was mating right well then why today I found allister digging so I took a chance and put allister in the dig box and he went all the way to the bottom and laid eggs, about 20 of them,

well I’m confused because I witnessed them mate several times and allister was on top there tails twisted around allister was kinda on top on top enough to bite the other ones neck mind you allister is bigger the george now we knew they would have babies but I dont understand it we took them in had them sexed and allister the male not jill laid eggs omg, i dont get it when I got allister he was a boy a proud boy lol so hmmm, well ovisouly he is a she watched her lay eggs, she did it in a couple of hours and we followed all instructions for her on what your suppose to do, and shes doing very well very tired but doing very well shes eaten already and everything ,

so is it possibly that there both girls? and i guess lesbians at that since we watched them mate, but how can I tell if the eggs are fertile and will they lay the same number wether there fertile or not?
and when we went to retrieve them outta the dirt we had to take them out of the dirt somehow the soil stuff got spidermites in it it was organic soil it was moist like it was suppose to be but he had to take out the eggs because of it, so right now the eggs are on a damp paper towls in a tub-o-ware under the heat lamp a bunch of the eggs were stuck together so the got moved in a group but do we need to seperate them and how do we do that with out breaking the eggs we left them all in the postion they were laid, cant get any more dirt till friday and we dont have the money for the hoovbater right now so were going to be making one but what can we do till friday to help the eggs, and once again how do we tell if there fertile I really would love the help I know its late at night but I need n e answers I can get thank you ~cal~

Hey Cal,

First let’s figure out if on fact they are both girls or if you have a boy and a girl. Please post pics of their bum. Have them stand on the counter facing away from you. Lift the tail towards the back...put your thumb on their lower back so as to keep the feet touching the counter.

There is no lesbian...animals react by instinct. If their tails were in fact locked together, then you probably do have a male and female. How long ago did you see them doing this?

As far as the eggs...if fertile, they should be put in deli type containers with perllite or vermiculite, moistened. You can get a cheap little giant incubator at any farm feed store...these are used to incubate chicks and work great. After a week of having the eggs in the incubator, then you candle them to see if they have veins.

But, let’s get some pics of thir bums first.

Edel

Hey, it seems that we are in a similar situation! I posted this on the community forum, and then Edel sent me this link. So weird! Here is my story...

I have a young female named Bella. Bella produced two fertile clutches of eggs for me this year. The babies just started hatching. I put Bella in a cage with one of my other females. I usually keep a couple of females living together after they are finished with the breeding season because it causes them to eat better and fatten back up (the competition I guess). Anyway, to make a long story short, I was cleaning cages this morning and noticed that Bella was mounting her female cage mate. Not too abnormal...sometimes a dominant girl will mount another female. But then she proceeded to force her tail under the other female’s tail like they were mating. I opened the cage, and guess what? Bella had a what appeared to be a hemipene insterted into my other dragon! What the heck? Anyone else ever have something like this happen? Weird!! is it possible that she is both male and female? If the other female becomes gravid, I’m totally gonna freak, lol!

Hermaphroditism has been seen in plenty of lizards, but normally both organs (1/2 teste-hemipenis and 1/2 ovary-hemiclitoris) are not functional if either of them are. A vet in Australia opened up a deceased V. acanthurus that was truly a hermaphrodite. It had never laid eggs or inseminated another lizard though. Interesting how this plays out.
