 Eggs are Pipping

Willow’s first clutch of this season is pipping. She laid her third clutch last night. Two eggs are pipping and about eight are sweating. Im excited...this is the first clutch of beardies Ive hatched. Last season we had someone hatch them for us because we didnt want to mess them up. Im excited to see how they all turn out, two of the smallest eggs are pipping right now. There is one egg thats about three times their size and is sweating, so Im keeping an eye on that one. I’ll post pictures once I find my camera.

Here’s the mom from last year, I cant find any pics of the dad.

What’s it mean when the eggs are sweating? I’ve actually got some fence lizard eggs in incubation, and I know about everything, except sweating....

Little beads of liquid form on the eggs when theyre about to hatch. Im pretty sure its the liquid from inside the egg starting to drain. If not, Im sure someone will correct me.

Sorry, I figured I’d build up the suspense... lol... There are two different sized babies, its interesting. I thought the larger eggs might be twins or something. I took a couple pics of the two different sizes.

Here’s the father, he’s shedding.

The one egg left...

Willow’s Second Clutch, still incubating... I have to take that orange looking egg out, forgot to.

Third Clutch, laid the night before the first started hatching...

Might as well show the first and so far only ackie clutch too...

Your two breeders are norms?

The male looks kinda frail. Lots of mating wore him out I guess?

Thanks. The female is a normal because I never asked about her lineage when I got her. Im not sure what the dad is, but its written down somewhere. He’s pretty old, I think over 5 and he’s bred every year, as far as I know (I got him last year). He doesnt eat much during breeding season either, around twice a week.

I need to get some updated pictures. The smaller babies are still a little weak, but the other guys are doing great and have awesome colors. I plan on selling the larger babies anytime now, and the smaller ones when theyre stronger.

Congrats on your babies danny. They look great. The little ones will be better if you separate them & group them by size. Hope this helps. Beth
