 Should I breed my male?

I apologize for posting this msg in the site help forum also - new to this! We have a year old male bearded dragon who is an absolute sweetheart. He is friendly and gentle with us. I’ve only seen him flare his beard twice when startled. A friend has a female year old and wants us to allow ours to breed. I am afraid this could change our dragon’s disposition. Will our male still act the same after getting lucky?

 Should I breed my male?

Hey Zombo,

I don’t know if it would change it’s dispostion...all my male has on its mind is breeding. However, you just may be shocked about how aggessive your male may become with your friends female. I have a male that has never been around a female and has alway been very docile and quiet. While taking photos I put a female next to him...it happend so quick...he latched on to her neck and wouldn’t let go...they were flipping all over the place, down steps and all and he still would not let go until I finally got hold of them and seperated them...My point is...you may not look at your dragon the same. Plus your friend has to realize that there dragon may get beat up a little bit.

Anyway...alot of people breed dragons and have no problems with their males. That doesn’t mean it can’t happen.
