 Help!!!!

Okay i rescued 4 bearded dragons and the women i got it from told me that the two cages i got had the same sex 2 female 2 male, i thought it was weird for 2 males but i didn’t ask questions. i woke up this beautiful morning and my orange Beard is digging i think that’s i sign for laying so i have her in a lay box but i don’t have a incubator is that a problem?.... -__- also she has been in her lay box all day about 12 hours now. but now she stopped digging and it looks like she is resting. is that also a normal sign? also what do i do at night keep her in the lay box or taker out and put her back in with the male?

I’m REALLY REALLY sorry for asking so many questions but i don’t want anything bad happening to the babies because of me....

 Help!!!!

Hi,

If she stopped digging, you can put her back in her enclosure. Let her get some rest....some heat in the am. A bath will also relax her.

Have you separated them? They really should not be housed together. A bearded dragon female can store sperm and lay eggs every month for up to a year. The male will keep trying to mate with her and will only cause her stress.

If you want to put up some pics of the bum area, we can tell you whether you have males/females......Make sure the beardie is facing away from you....on a table/counter.....lift the tail towards the back, placing your finger/thumb on the lower back of the beardie to keep the legs on the counter. Snap the shot and we can tell you what you have.

Yea, you will need an incubator if you plan on incubating the eggs. You can pick one up at any feed store. If you are not prepared, you can put the eggs in the freezer. There is a 24 hour period after she lays the eggs.....at this time, there is no baby in the egg.

I hope this helps.

 Help!!!!

As long as she keeps digging, it means she’s not done. It really doesn’t mean anything other than she probably didn’t like where she was laying.

How is she doing?

To be honest, i don’t think she is doing to good. She is hardly moving just resting i guess. The only time she drank water was when i put her in a bath. And i gave her food yesterday and today and she didn’t touch it! -_- I don’t no if this is normal. This is my first time EVER working with a pregnant beardie....

How is your beardie doing?

If she if having a hard time, you may have to have her looked by a vet. If she cannot pass the eggs, she will/can become egg bound. Not a good thing to happen.

 Help!!!!

Theresa,

If she doesn’t get back to normal.....get lethargic, then get her in to a vet. Other than that, if she is back to normal, eating, basking, pooping, then she should be fine.

 Help!!!!

The pictures aren’t coming through for me.

I would have her checked by a vet. You don’t wanna lose her due to egg binding. The vet can help her with the rest of the eggs.

 Help!!!!

Hi,

Get her a lay box.....a 50 quart sterylite/tupperware type container. Get a bag of dirt at home depot or lowes, even wallmart will have it....no chemicals. Put the dirt in the tub and moisted it enough so she can dig a hole and it won’t collapse on her. Make a mound to one side of the tub. Cut the lid in half. Place the lid on the tub, hole away from the mound. Put a heat lamp on the open top facing the mound so she won’t get cold.

Hope this helps.

 Help!!!!

dont stress to much on the not drinking its normal for them not to drink a lot. My 13 year old would only sit and drink for a few min every 4 or 5 days i had plenty of water for him and a waterfall set up to help him see the water. Sometimes they cant see the water in the bowl try sticking the bowl in the sink or stopping your drain and let the water make bubbles and movement, this caught my big guys eye almost every time. Good luck hope your little one passes those eggs alright

 Help!!!!

so i got the ex-ray done and the doctor says there deff eggs and he sees 12. but the problem is she is still with the male. i no she’s not suppose to be but when the males ut of the cages she runs back and forth and back and forth. when she sees him in another cage she just stays in that direction. also another problem is that she only eats from his mouth. its something i never saw before. he will eat then pick up lettuce and wait till she takes it. so she dont eat unless he’s there. no what do i do!?! and will he eat the eggs if he has them?
