Our second egg hatched today, he started last night and then went to sleep with his little head out I thought when I woke this morning he would be out but he was sleeping and finished the job today, He is in his own container now, but just like baby #1 he is jumping and trying to get out so I will move him tonight. Both look like they are doing wonderful.
These two eggs plus one more still in this container were in Eco Earth not Perlite the others are in perlite and they look different, Like they are much more plump like maybe they soaked up to much water, can this happen? Do you think they are OK? They are not starting to dent or any thing. Is this normal for eggs on perlite?

I’m sure they’re fine, if your ecoearth started to dry out it may have desicated the egg a bit and forced an early hatch. If the ones in perlite are still plump and firm I’d bet that they will hatch larger and healthier.

Your right, #3 is on his way and he is one of the eggs I was worried about. Thanks for getting back to me.
How old should they be before we try to hold them?

Give them a few days to settle in at least and then be careful, babies are skiddish and fast.
