Baby Beardie not looking good
My very first egg (one and only) hatched today. The baby did not look well-I found him sitting in the incubatory water. He was not moving. I warmed it up in my hand and it sprung to life. However, it took over 80 days (more like 90)for this egg to hatch. The baby is somewhat lame on one side of the body and having trouble walking without flipping onto it’s back-this is only day one. I offered pinheads and it showed no interest. It seems tired. Does anyone know why the one side of the body seems lame? It was in the egg a long time. Will it live....help.

It sounds like this little one should be seen by a vet, and very soon. There could be several issues going on, such as low blood sugar from using up its egg yolk while incubating so long, or pinched nerves in or coming off of the spinal cord from lying in one position for too long.

Thanks for the vet tip- good news- it is still a little uncoordinated but can now catch pinheads on it’s own- it misses many of them but is catching some. I am keeping my finger crossed. Thanks fo rthe help.
