 Help needed please!

My boss just called me and told me her female has just laid eggs. She is in with a male, and is about 14-15 months old (I told her not to do it!) Anyways, she came home tonight and found a bunch of eggs just laid on the reptile carpet, and wanted to know what to do. She doesn’t have any vermiculite or perlite, or an incubator for that matter. I have all of this stuff, and will give it to her tomorrow. Anyways, I told her for the night to take potting soil (that is all she had), and dampen it, to mark the eggs w/a pencil on the top and to not turn them. I told her to make thumb prints in the potting soil and put the eggs in there. She is looking for the warmest spot in her house. I told her to maybe take a large tupperware container, and put a clamp lamp on it to warm it up to about 83-84 degrees. I will give her my incubator and perlite tomorrow. Nnow, this said, I have not gone through this yet, just read up on it alot, so I am wondering if there is anything I am missing, or anything incorrect I told her. The potting soil thing is just until tomorrow when she gets the perlite from me. She said her eggs are quite white also. Thanks!

Yes covering it with wet plastic will hold in humidity, but I’m too late now so let us know how they turn out.

I left her a message this morning, to see how she did. I kept telling her not to keep them together, as she will probably have fertile eggs, but she does want to incubate them. She is supposed to come over today and get the supplies from me, and she is going to bring it in to work tommorow, we will incubate them there, which is something I like because I will be able to look at the progress of the eggs. Anyways, she did not do any research on this, which kind of makes me upset, I even told her to come to this forum, but she has not. I will remind her today. I have told her it is very very important to not turn the eggs, and she will need to keep the incubator out of her kids reach while it is there tonight (her kids are 4 and 5). I left on her message today the thing about the plastic wrap, but she will be here today to get the incubator. I have been using it for my silks, I keep them at about 83degrees, and will let her borrow my thermometer also. Funny thing is she got a male and a female, but what she though was a female (Lizzy) is actually a male (she did not believe me, even when I pointed out the two HUGE bulges by his vent, and the black beard to boot), and the female is supposed to be a male (Nemo). She isn’t telling her kids, because of course they each wanted a dragon of their own gender (she has a son and a daughter). I don’t know, that kind of makes me laugh. Good news is, Lizzy doesn’t seem to bother Nemo too much. They both eat well, and except for the mating (which she witnessed), they both seem content. Only problem is this won’t be the first time, and unless she wants to get into the business of selling baby beardies, she better get ready for a lot of dragons! P.S. I will help her out in that department!
