 Rotting Eggs

Lizzie had 21 eggs. This is my first time having to care for the eggs. It’s been about five days since she’s laid them, and I’ve been trying my best to keep them at a constant tempurature of 83-85 degrees, and at a humidity of 75%-80%. When I try to keep the humidity up I don’t spray the actual eggs, just the perlite around them; and I know you should expect some heartbreak during the process of breeding beardies.. but.. I was slightly surprised to see that almost all of the eggs are completely yellow. It happened within a days time- at first they seemed good, white, and getting hard. Then the next day I woke up, checked on them, and about 95% looked like they have yellow gunk on them! I was wondering why this was happening? And how long I should wait before I give up on them..

Sometimes they don’t appear bad right away, that’s why you should always put them all in the incubator. If they are yellow and have yellow stuff which sounds like they are oozing they are bad. Are they oozing? Are they hard or soft? Are they collapsing?

The yellow parts are hard, and the whitish parts on the eggs are soft. The opposite sides of the one’s that seemed really good in the beginning are flat, wrinkled, and collapsed. Some of them are slightly brown on the bottoms

It’s not uncommon for them to be infertile. It’s hard to say how long to wait without seeing them. I guess all I can say is wait and see if they get worse.

My dragons first batch of eggs was infertile and they looked very similiar to what you are describing. It didnt happen till like the second week though. Are you sure you did not wet the eggs? Cause that is a big no-no. They will begin to mold and turn color. Dont let it get you down. You will do better next time.
