| I usually keep them in the refrigerator. I don’t want them coming out of their larvae state... Wax worms are the larvae of bees. .. Am I right? hm |

| Waxworms are the larvae of a wax moths. The moths lay their eggs in behives. So the waxworms feed on the honey and the wax of the hive. I keep my in the refrigerator too, else they will cocoon or die. PE |

Go here, this lady makes a great waxworm bedding. I doubt you’d want to buy it, but she might list the ingredients, not sure. I remember it from when I was gonna buy some from her, but I never did. Changed my mind - my dragon was fat enough! Silkys to go |

| Nevermind that link for waxworms - she used to have them and it appears she quit carrying waxworms. You could email her, she is VERY nice. tell her someone said they recalled she had good bedding and she might help you. I think Jess-i-Ca-Ca bought worms from her before. I think she’d help you out. |

| We ordered 500 wax worms from worm man and just put the 2 cups they came in in the fridge. We have occassionally had to pick out some dead ones that have turned black but for the most part, they have done fine in the fridge. Julie and Brad |

Waxworm bedding...
| Ok, waxworm bedding is - get some wheat bran and mix honey in it until it’s sticky then grate some bees wax into the mix also - I don’t actually measure anything I just do it by feel and sight, it should be slightly stick to the touch. Throw your worms into this mix and crumple up some waxpaper into balls and throw that in also. keep them at room temp and they will cocoon in the waxpaper and in a couple weeks you’ll have moths. The moths will fly around for a week or 2 then die, a few weeks after that the bedding will explode with what seems like millions of little waxworms. Here’s the part that i’ve never been able to get all the way right so if anyone figures it out email me the solution - The little sh*ts can climb and eat their way through anything. If you seel the lid completely you’ll ferment into mead and kill them all. I’ve tried cotton (breathable) but they ate through it, window screen they will crawl through. They are easy to breed hard to keep in the container though. Sean

| Sean - maybe that’s why the website I recommended no longer has waxworms. She said once that the waxworms you get from her are WAY different than the ones you get from places who refrigerate them. |
