 Biting?

Hi everyone i have a problem =/
i couldn’t take my bD with me for about 3 or 4 months so my cousin took care of her.
now she is very aggressive. when i open the screen she just wants food and thinks my hand is food! she wants to eat eat eat. shes around 4 years old but shes not very big. my cousin fed her and gave her greens everyday. but im pretty sure he didnt hold her. what do i do to get my loving beardie back?

Just take time and slowly put your hand in the cage and let her know your there..then take it out. Then after a couple dys of doing that daily...try getting close to her and putting your hand under her belly and letting her know your hand isnt there for just food. That is sad she turned..but they say "you cant teach an old dog tricks"....even with a beardie....but that is a bunch of bull! You can get her back! Just dont give up and hold her a lot...once you get to that point that is!

The only thing i can say is be gentle with her, talk to her, and don’t give up on her. I feel for you.

Keep trying. She is probably stressed out because she hadn’t seen you in a while. Beardie’s can be very sensitive to their surroundings.

tasting is different than being bitten. ursula and bonzai investigates a lot with their tongues. chances are youre hand will be licked several times and then ignored.
ive been mouthed before by ursula and it didnt hurt.. ive had much worse bites from one of my little african fat tailed geckos.
maybe try a set of gloves like a pair of fitted leather driving gloves so their not big and bulky until youre positive.

yeah if she hits you with there tounge just testing you out makign sure your fine. if she goes to lunge then i would be carefull but what you could do hehe. to make that bond closer is just to feed her .. till she wont eat no more.. and try to feed her greens by hand to get that special bond back.. or you can try to trick her. give her some lettuce and while she is chomping away get under her belly to lift her. that could work.
