 Bearded Dragon in BAD condition

He is now in my care, but this is how this BD had to live for the first time of her life. This beardies is under a year old. The complete size is only 12 in. nose to tail(although she is missing about 2-3 inches from her tail) She has only been being feed once(occasioanlly twice) per day and about 30 1/2 in. crickets per day. Rep-cal 6 days per week, Herptivite 1 time per week. A bath 1-2 times per week.(no water dish) 30 gallon tank/w ceramic tile. 100 degree temp. (BAD uvb source, a mercury vapor bulb) I do however have a ReptiSUN coming. a few greens every day.

How should I correct this? Can she make up her lost growing time?

I have a breeding container with about 100 lobster and about 15 Blabtica Dubia Roaches.

I also have 2000 1/2 in. crickets coming Tue-Wed.

Here is a pic.......

What can I do to make this beardies life a little better so she doesn’t suffer? Please help.

Lizardlove the dragons growth isn’t much of the problem. Shes pretty big for a girl under a year old. The thing is how she was fed. You should give her more greens then her previously owner. To make the beardies life better hold her and love her. Also she can eat full grown crickets now. I realy hope this helped

Mercury Vapor Bulbs are 100 times better than any flourescent bulb at puttin out UVB. check out the ratings of megaray, TREX, and zoomeds MVB. http://www.beautiful dragons.503xtreme.com/Researchmain.html

Really? This is the one that was on her(The green middle on, 13 watts).....

I know about the other ones, but I heard that this one is bad. So the only one that I could afford was a ReptiSUN

YEah, coils are bad. You said the MVB you had was bad.. they arent. They look like a basking bulb but they are bigger and they give off UVB and heat. The coil you had was bad..so the one you got is good. If its a reptisun 10, you’re str8.

Good luck with the beardie!

There are only a couple minor things to correct about her condition (one of which you already have).
She desn’t looke like she is in bad condition to me.

did you imply that the tile ws bad for her? tile is actually much better than any substrate. I don’t know if that is what you actually meant, that’s just what it sounded like

Oh no, I didn’t mean that the tile was bad. I went back and read and yes it sounded like I did, sorry!

I think that the thing that wasn’t very good was her feeding. She was never feed a lot of live food, like she was supposed too.

Now that she is close to a year, she shouldn’t be having all that much live. Once adult, they only need 20% of their diet to be live food, and that dragon is close to it.
Yys, if she was only fed greens as a baby that isn’t a good thing, but she looks great to me.
