No matter what any breeder or pet store worker tells you, they are not social. They don’t need or want a companion. Other beardie’s only cause stress. It isn’t even safe to house two females together. Two males will ultimately fight (which can lead to serious injury, death, and huge vet bills). A male and female won’t work either. Males are sexually mature at only a few months old. Females cannot breed until they’re 18 months old and at least 350 grams. Males will breed with females before they’re ready. This will result in 20-50 eggs every 30 days for up to a year. That’s alot of baby’s! Not to mention it will mean an early death of your female.
