 Sand...Bad???

Everyone is telling me that sand is bad. But if b.d. live in Australia then how is sand bad for them???

Beardies do not live on sand in the wild! Not for the most part, unless venturing to find mates and to lay eggs, and even then only for a short while. They live in dry, arid areas with ROCK AND COMPACT CLAY.

Also take into consideration that beardies can live over 10 years in captivity wothout sand, and only a few years old in the wild they die of "old age"...

Right.......Bearded Dragons taste their environment. Which means that, they will be eating the sand. The sand sits in their belly, because they cannot digest it. And they eat some more, and sits in their belly again. It plugs them up and eventually they can’t poop. It is a very painful death for them.
