 A bit of an emergency... one night?

The doors to my male beardies tank have broken. It’s the runners on it that have broke and therefore have a beardie in a tank with no doors. I’ve ordered a runner and hopefully that should be here in the next few days.

But in the meantime the ONLY thing i can think of is putting him in with my female. Hopefully when i come home from work tomorrow i can temporarily fix it until i get the new glass runner.

But i’m also scared my female might hurt him! They’ve spent some time together today and i noticed my female being a little aggressive with him... But what else can i do?????

can you get something to cover the broken part like some plastic egg crate or screen or anything? I wouldn’t leave him with the female.

No. I’ve tried boarding it up, but he seemed too eager to get out because he couldn’t see through it and he started to hurt himself. I have absolutely nothing else that can work!

I did think about putting a net there.... a great idea... except i have nothing to keep it in place with since staples wont go through the wood of the viv lol

I’ve turned the lights out now anyways cos it’s bed time and both have settled down to sleep on the same side of the viv

well after thinking about it for a while... I’d just go to Walmart and get a clear big tupperware rubbermaid tub that comes up to your knees at least..big enough to house him and just out his basic items that he needs and just put the clamp light on there and get his temos right..if its gonna be for a couple days, he should be fine. As for the uvb bulb not being able to sit on it..just take him outside for 15 minutes a day for the time being..if the weather permits. Dont mix them anymore though...not a good idea..he could mate with her or she could kill him!!

I would agree with the tub Idea. A 116 qt sterilite tub (which can actually house an adult beardie throughout his life) is at Target for $18. It is a guarantee that Wal-mart will be even cheaper. Plus, when the tank issue is solved, you have something to store extra herp supplies (or feeders) in!!

I actually managed to board it up pretty well... as for the Wal-Mart idea - i’m in the UK... we dont have wal marts or dollars :P But i think i got it sorted! I just have to wait for my runner to arrive then i can get it fixed.
