My Eddie has pooping very nicely with the white and all for the first 4 months- the last two days he has pooped but its dry and looks like compressed crickets- whats that mean?

I will take him to the vet next week- no time this week from work !!!

How often do you bathe him? He needs more hydration. Are you feeding any veggies besides the crickets?

I will check the temps again tonight and report back on that tomorrow- Thanks so much Yoshi- Eddie is still young - no-ones sure, maybe the VET will know better but i’d say he’s about 7 months old.
I just phoned the vet, got an appointment for Wednesday and asked if i should bring a stool sample, he said no, - says he will just deworm him and maybe give him a calcium and pro-biotics injection--hmmm not so kee on what he said- maybe i should seek another doctor.

YEah, I dont know about vets these days just fillin animals up with meds! I would seek another one. And like Edel said.. get him soakin in some baths. I would do it everyday. Put him in the sink (make sure its cleaned out first with soap and water) get the water about 95 degrees and get it up to his shoulders, no higher. Let him soak in there for about 10 minutes or so.

If he is that young then his temps need to be around the 107 at the least mark and def near 110-115. They need to have 102 degrees to digest their food and if you can see the crix then he is dehydrated and doesnt have enough heat to digest the food.

You can actually just take a stool sample into a vet and just have them check it. They will run a full parasite spectrum for like under 20 bucks. Then they can establish if you need meds. You can take it to any vet. And make sure its fresh..refridgerate. And your welcome!

Thanks Yoshi- we dont have much of a variety in the stores here down south in AFRICA but im gonna hunt for a better temp measure tool-

I have once in the corner below so thats probably the coolest spot and in the day the temp is around 88 degrees Farhenheit while at night its about 82

Eddie sits on top of his log most of the time which is closets to the basking lamp so i assume the temp must be higher up there than below at the actual meter-

The basking lamp is a 75w ExoTerra Sun Glo

At night i switch on the Infrared 75w bulb- i recently bought a cermaic heat one as well but i dont like it as i cant see him and crickets that were left behind etc.

In the front i have a Repti Glo 10 tube from ExoTerra- is this the tube everyone says is bad for them?

I am very grateful for your help-

Hey Ed.. ok you have a couple issues that can be takin care of..

The red bulb or ceramic heat emitter does not need to be in his tank at night! He needs to get waaayy below 82 at night. He needs to shut down. They can get as low as 65 degrees. So.. take all the heat out and see what the temps get sown to. Moniter it for a few nights..b/c below 65 isnt good!

Also, the crickets should be taken out at night or before he goes to bed. They actually should be taken out after he eats..mainly so he wont go eating one and then its time for bed..he cant digest them as he sleeps. Also they will bite him and could cause infection! so..take them out asap after you feed.

The reptiglo is bad. The reptiglo 8 is what you need. Or you can get a reptisun 10.

Do you think yo ucan find a temp gun around you? They are pretty easy to locate I’d assume. Also, the digital thermometers are at a local Walmart type store.. like a store that has a pharmacy actually would be better. Just go look for the thermometers that have a wire coming out of it... Ihope you find one b/c you def need something more accurate than just a little one that you explained. Anyways.. those things should be changed and help your little guy out! Good luck and I bet Africa is nice!

Lauren~
