 Leapord spotted tummy?

I just brought home my new baby BD and noticed that his tummy has spots on it in a leapord pattern. I’ve been feeding him small crickets, mustard greens and a little bit of kale. He’s got a hiding spot that he can either crawl on to bask or hide under when he’s scared. For substrate I’m using paper towels right now until he’s larger, the temperature at the bottom is usually about 90 to 95 degrees F and near the top it’s about 100 or so. Yes, I will be purchasing another light as I thought the one light would be enough but it seems like it’s not.
Are the spots normal? If not, what can I do to help?
Thankyou very much for any help!

If you’re really worried about it post a pic..

That’s exactly what it looks like! Thank you, I’ve only ever seen the beardies with solid cream colored bellies so I wasn’t quite sure what to think. Once I’ve found my camera I’ll have to post some pics, he’s really neatly colored. He’s darker brown with the vibrant orange spots down his back, the only one in his clutch like that actually.

those are stress marks

they can happen for a number of reasons;stress, being too hot or cold, something outside of their tank that is scarry, and sometimes at what seems like nothing lol

babies especially seem to get it, not usually something to worry about unless it is always like that

Well, he’s had them since we got him from the breeder Sunday night, I’m going to add another light as his cage is a little bit on the chilly side.

I’ve never heard that. Ickis has them usually when she is sleeping. Once the lights go out she gets really dark and falls asleep and that is when her spots are the brightest.
I would just think it was more of a pattern thing judging by the way they look, they’re part her.
Maybe you’re right but Ickis always has them stressed or not...

My Brumby always has them too. Somtimes they’re darker, sometimes I can hardly see them. but they’re always there...

Dark DARK Bellyspots (taken september 26th)

and MUCH lighter. (taken today, october 13th) but his spots do still darken sometimes

Yea I know... He’s FAT!!!

they are stress marks
they have them for different reasons and babies have them more than adults but they shouldnt always

when they are cool they do sometimes b/c they darken to attract more heat

my guys never have them though(only when they go outside)

Yea, it’s stress marks, and since you have only had your baby for a few days he will need time adjusting to the new home, new sites and new smells, and even you, so no worries, it’s normal, especially since he just had a big move to a new home :)

The stress marks do go away in time, mine had them for a few weeks, or when he is cold. But during the day he is bright tan and orange with a solid white tummy. His tummy is always white when he goes to sleep too. :-)

My baby gets his stress marks either when he’s freaked out about something, or he’s basking/relaxed.
I was outside with him once, and a helicopter flew over and he started freaking out, his stress marks were darker than I’d ever seen them, and he even had a bit of black in his "peach fuzz"
Just stress marks ^^

Thank you guys so much! I was getting super worried about it, and even this morning they were a little bit lighter. So I guess he’s not as freaked any more.
Ickis and Brumby are gorgeous dragons! I can’t wait till lil’ Nichol Bolas gets comfortable in his new home, when he’s calm with us he’s just the sweetest thing.

Thank you again!

You guys are right! I took my bearded dragon to the vet yesterday and they turned dark and got spots all over their tummy. They were stressing out! I never knew that, just thought it was spots. So weird how they change colors. Mood stones haha.
Guess that just goes to show that my fat Krumm never stresses out about anything haha. ;)

YES! lol you are the first to get it!! We just adopted a larger one from Petco ( i have a thread about him also, kind of worried) and we named him The Annihilator, petco was scared that he would kill all the baby beardies because the enclosure was to small. Not my choice, I blame the boy friend. lol I was going to name is Vaevictis Asmandi so they could match, both little elder dragons!

Oh yea! Nicol Bolas I got from a local breeder who didn’t even know the morph of the parents so I have no idea what morph he is. She showed me the parents though and one was yellow-orange and the other had a beautiful pattern but not much color. Nicol Bolas is primarily a brown color with vibrant orange spots down his back, the spikes on the side of him are pretty orange too.
The Annihilator is rather colorlessly beige but has the same pattern of spots and stripes that Nicol Bolas does. The more we feed TA the more color he gains back though and it seems to me that he’s going to be a pretty yellow color.
The batch that Petco has now is really colorful, all yellows and oranges, one very red one, but I agree that they usually have very colloless BD. I think its becuase of the food/lighting they provide. It’s really not the best.
