 Ratio?

Hey guys hope you and your beardies are well. I wanted to ask a question about food ratios. I know when beardies grow they eat more veg to protein, Pepe is now 10 months, how many crix should he be eating daily? Thanks.

well a baby, should eat as many crickets as it wants in a 15min period i used to throw in 30 each feeding when my bd was younger, and if he wanted more give more, if he didnt i’d take them out, but all in the 15 min. period, 2-3 times a day. Once they reach around 18 months there diet will change to 20% protein and 80% vegetables. I would say thats prlly idk a dozen crix’s twice a week? and they need to be offered greens all day everyday.

pannyb,

At 10 months old you can still offer bugs every day, if your beardie will eat every day, after 1 year old, bugs 3 x a week, and greens of course every day for life :)

 Ratio?

Hey guys, seriously I don’t think Pepe would be alive if I didn’t research here. Petstores make me sick, you wouldn’t believe the advice I’ve been given, I questioned keeping adult male beardies together in a small enclosure, I was asked what the hell do I know, I explained I have a degree in animal biology, which is the truth, however I’ve learnt more on this site than I did at uni! I’m just so confused why people who couldn’t care less about animals would open a pet shop?!

Anyway I have decided to stop feeding Pepe with crix, I hate them! I’ve decided to replace them with locusts which Pepe much Prefers. Which brings me to my question. The locusts I buy are labelled large, they are about an inch or so long. So how many (gut loaded) of these locusts should I feed pepe per day/week as well as greens every day? Thanks again!

Offer them every day, as much as he will eat, he will stop once he has had enough, and greens, keep his bowl full every day, and if he eats all the greens, give him more. They can never have to much greens...

Hey guys has anyone ever seen their beardie literally bulge out his eyes from his sockets, Ive seen Pepe do this about 3 times in total. He’s lying there and then just bulges his eyes out by quite a bit! Anyone seen this happen before?! Should I be worried??
