1) Do you have a UVB light source? (fluorescent or mercury vapor if present) 2) How much do you feed your beardie each day? (hopefully you feed all he/she can eat in a 15 minute period once or twice daily) 3) How often do you clean the cage/enclosure? (hopefully immediately upon noticing messes) 4) How big is the cage/enclosure? (hopefully 40 gallons or bigger) 5) How many hiding spots are there? (hopefully several including a cave-like area) 6) What are you feeding your beardie? (ideal foods are small crickets, large crickets, phoenix worms, silk worms, collard greens, mustard greens, turnip greens) 7) Are you providing water? (hopefully through a dish or by hand using a dropper periodically) 8) What substrate are you using? (paper towels and newspaper are better than sand) These may seem like rather annoying questions, but answering each one will help. Some people simply have baby beardies that are very assertive and will bluff their owners as they attempt to establish their territory. Sometimes it’s something simple like remembering to approach your beardie from the sides to help them keep calm -- approaching from above mimics a predator. Finally, if you aren’t providing proper care and sources of calcium, UVB, vitamins, and nourishment then your beardie will have development problems that will make him/her very uncomfortable and cranky. You won’t get the proper beardie experience if that’s the case. |

i would also try petting him under the chin over the head b/c if you reach at them from above can frighten them even more most likely he was fine before b/c he was really scarred by being moved into a new home just take it slow and when picking him up try scooping him from underneath a good thing to do is take him out at night when you turn their lights off and wrap them up in a blankie and cuddle with them it gets them used to you you can also try putting a peice of clothing of your for him to snuggle in so he gets used to your scent but like reptile freak said take it slow and dont ruch bonding but dont be afraid either |
