Wots the best way to trim claws  hi my beardies claws are very long and very sharp and i was wondering wots the best way to trim them without putting tiles in his viv.he has paper towel on floor of viv.he hasnt wanted to come out for awhile but yesterday he decided he wanted to come out so i put my hand out and he climbed my arm and i now look like ive had kittens scratching me coz ive scratches everywhere.i did start to trim a very small amount off using clippers but he got very stressed so i had to stop.any other surgestions apart from taking him to vet to get them cut,thanks in advance

Wots the best way to trim claws  Roz, what I do is use human nail clippers. What you want to do is just cut the very tip and thats it. My beardies are so used to it they normally just sit still and watch me, lol...Just be careful not to cut to deep, just the tip...

Wots the best way to trim claws  hi nancy,thats wot i tried to do yesterday with him but i only got 4claws done coz he really got stressed out.i only trimmed a tiny amout from the tip coz it was pointed big time.he had 4sheds in 4weeks and he wasnt wanting picking up so i left him to it but now hes stopped shedding for now hes become friendly again and yesterday was the first time in weeks hes wanted to come out so didnt wanna push him too much.i used a small pair of human nail clippers also.my male can be a miserable bugger sumtimes lol(tyipical male lol) il try again when he comes out 2morra(its 23.11 here now) if my hands and arms can take it lol.thanks again hun

Wots the best way to trim claws  Well, if he has been shedding and is grumpy, I would wait for sure, lol, don’t want him bolting on you while your trying to cut his nails Oh they can be little stinkers sometimes, we soooo have to love them though :)

Wots the best way to trim claws  thanks hun,hes finished shedding atm and has gotten friendly again.my female when she was 3mths old bolted from my hand and ran straight into my dogs cage(my was in season so put her in a cage while the male dogs were out)and all my dog done was watched her,i was lucky she didnt eat her.i pooped myself that day i can tell u hun.i love all my animals and their silly ways lol.take care hun

Wots the best way to trim claws  i use a pedipaws. my dogs won’t let me near them with it, but the lizards take it really well. i also have another person hold the lizard, so it’s safe and secure, and i can use both hands to do what i’m doing.
