Wots the best way to trim claws

hi my beardies claws are very long and very sharp and i was wondering wots the best way to trim them without putting tiles in his viv.he has paper towel on floor of viv.he hasnt wanted to come out for awhile but yesterday he decided he wanted to come out so i put my hand out and he climbed my arm and i now look like ive had kittens scratching me coz ive scratches everywhere.i did start to trim a very small amount off using clippers but he got very stressed so i had to stop.any other surgestions apart from taking him to vet to get them cut, thanks in advance

Roz, what I do is use human nail clippers. What you want to do is just cut the very tip and thats it. My beardies are so used to it they normally just sit still and watch me, lol...Just be careful not to cut to deep, just the tip...

Well, if he has been shedding and is grumpy, I would wait for sure, lol, don’t want him bolting on you while your trying to cut his nails Oh they can be little stinkers sometimes, we soooo have to love them though :)

Good luck with round 2, lol...

i use a pedipaws. my dogs won’t let me near them with it, but the lizards take it really well. i also have another person hold the lizard, so it’s safe and secure, and i can use both hands to do what i’m doing.
