ok I have no idea what just happened. Today I gave Krieger his crickets like I normally do (no veggies today, shame on me ><) so I came home just now and it looks like a massacre in his tank. I"m not sure if he vomited, regurgitated, or just crapped straight crickets. I mean it’s brutal looking. There’s torn up crickets all over the tank. Limb, heads, you name it it’s on the floor and all over the back wall (not sure I even wanna know how it got there).

He is 9 months old
His daily temps are 95 (on a thermometer, not a temp gun. He won’t bask if it’s any higher)
He’s got a 10.0 reptisun uvb
Eats zucchini, kale, collard greens, chopped carrots, and "bearded dragon bits" in rotation. And crickets daily. He graduated to the larges about two months ago. Now after this i"m debating on putting him back on the smalls either that or only giving them a few times a week

Gradually just started feeding him more of the large crickets. They are no larger than his head it wide. he always seemed hungry after the first ten so I gradually increased it now this happened.

soooo....long story short, any one have any idea what just happened?

I agree about the temps, sounds like he is not digesting. I would raise the temps to 108-110f. Peanut is going on two years old, and she loves those high temps still, if she doesn’t get them she is hiding. Except for right now b/c she’s Brumating. Get the temps up, and I bet the problem will be solved :)

Let us know how that goes..

Nancy

If the temp goes too much above 95 he hangs out in the cool end all day. he won’t bask in the higher temps. My temps have been this way for a good 3 or 4 months and this is the first time he’s ever "vomited" up anything.

I do have an undertank heater underneath his basking spot so it may even be hotter than 95 and the thermometer just isn’t picking up that part of it.

I noticed last night when I cleaned up after the mess I found a chewed up "asian beetle". Those stupid orange spotted things that look like lady bugs. It’s nearly impossible to keep them out of the house but I’ve never had a dragon eat one before.

Does anyone know if those are toxic? He seems to be acting fine and he had a normal bowel movement while I was at the barn this morning.
Is it possible he just got over excited and ate too fast? Or maybe the beetle upset his stomach?
