Well, one of my males will be 4 years old this summer, and he is well over 500 grams. They all grow at different rates though and it also depends on if it has gotten proper care all it’s life also. If it has been in a 20 gallon all it’s life, my guess is it’s growth has been stunted making it alot smaller than it should be. If it has not had proper UV lighting, supliments, and diet also, I am guessing it’s not very healthy at this age. Again, it depends on the care it’s had...Do you know the weight and size of him/her? I would invest in a 40 gallon breeder tank for him/her. The 55 gallons are not wide enough for beardies, not even a young beardie imo... As for the driftwood, it should be soaked in 1 part bleach solution to 10 parts water overnight, and bake in the oven at 250 for an hour or two. Make sure it’s rinced really well also before baking... If you have any more questions/comcerns, feel free to ask :) Nancy |
