About to travel long distance with beardy. I need help!

I just bought my beardy about a week ago. He is a juvenile named Harden. Hes an awesome little dude and I want to make sure he survives a road trip im about to take. Im from Oklahoma but I live and go to school in Massachusetts. Im home for a couple weeks and bought him a really nice enclosure and he seems really really happy in there. I want him to be healthy and have the least amount of stress possible on the trip so what do you guys recommend I do? Ive got a critter carrier but i dont think thats enough. Any ideas? Im totally open.

Hi,

Usually if you put him in a shoe box with a nice little towel for a blankie on the bottom, cover it up, he will/should sleep through the entire trip.....dark and comfy with a few holes on the lid for air. He will arrive rested and stress free. Just make sure he doesn’t get too cold, 60F to about 75F is a good sleeping temp.

Of course, if you feel comfortable holding him, some of them do really well perching on your shoulder or the dash board for the drive.

I would definitely not leave him in the enclosure for the transport so that nothing in there could slide and crush him.

Hope this helps,

Edel
