 Ideas for my little boy???

Hello, all!

It is only recently that I have started reffering to my little Keet named Birdie as my ’baby boy’ but that’s what he is to me, haha!

Anyways, I think that his diet is pretty drab. Just his regular seeds, and I give him baby spinache and shreds of carrots sometimes, but that’s it. Sometimes I’ll buy little egg buiscuts from the pet store, but I can’t go there a lot AT ALL. (blame my parents. I ask, but they don’t budge, haha.)

So I was wondering what other types of foods I can give him to spice up his diet, maybe make him a little happier or something? Maybe some quick recipies, or even some regular dinner foods that I can split with him or something? I really want to broaden his horizen when it comes to food. I know I’d be pissed if I’d been eating the exact same things for over a year. (I feel guilty about that...)

So, any help? Any recpies or something that some of you guys can share???

I give my birds everything. Little birds(keets LB, Tiels) like pasta and mixed veggies.
Mine love scrambled eggs, boiled eggs. Little pieces of waffles.Toast. You can share your food. Just stay away from avacado(no Taco Bell) chocolate, caffeine.

Cool, thanks! My problem has always been that I know what NOT to feed Birdie, but not what TO feed him besides regular bird food. I’ll try the eggs and see how he likes them (even though I HATE eggs myself, lol). Any fruits that I can give him?

DARK LEAFY GREE! Shredd carrots! Bean, rice, barley, corn, green beans, peas. You name it. They also love apple :)

An all seed iet will kill your bird, it will sned it to its grave in a very short time, it wont live its avaerage lifespand. But cut in half.

Cool, I’ll make a grocery list :).

I do feel really bad about not expanding Birdies diet more from the start. I guess that was mostly because he was a birthday gift, so I had to do a lot of last minut research and whatnot. (he’s still been a great gift, though) I give him baby spinache every day when I get home from school, and possibly some carrots, but that happens mostly on the weekends.

One more thing, what brands of bird food should I use or stay away from? I think I have kaytee egg-cite right now, but I’m not positive about that. Is that good, or should I switch to something else?

Kay-tee is ok. We sell that where I work. I would lay off the spinach,though. It conflics with the intake of vit.d3.

Okie-doke, not so much spinach. But carrots are okay for a regular thing, right? Because that’s all I have at the moment, and I probably won’t be able to nag my mom (or dad) into a grocery trip untill next week or so.

they can eat almost all fruits that dont have citris and are not avacodo. plain cereals like chex shreddys or cherrios are good. they like leafy green veggies like lettus but dont feed to much or they will get runny poop.

Citrus is fine for birds. My senegals loved grapefruit.
