 Weird behavior.

Hi , My parrodtlets have been acting really weird. It seems like the female is sitting at the bottom of the cage or atleast trying to get herself comfortable. Fluffing up ever so much and acting as if she wants to bite me. grant it she has never bitten me but lately she been snickering at me and seems to be fluffed up at the bottm of the cage. Is she trying to lay an egg. I have nt seen them mating but I am not home all the time so I could ve missed that easyly. Any suggestions. I have placed an extra cuddlebone in there just in case. Thx.

 Weird behavior.

Hi,

I’m sorry, but I don’t know much about bird breeding (at all) so I really can’t tell you if she might be about to lay eggs, but I can tell you that if this isn’t part of your birds normal behavior (and it shouldn’t be, becuase as far as I know if you see your bird sitting on the cage floor and/or keeping it’s feathers fluffed, then something is wrong) then you should DEFFENANTLY take your birdy to a vet. Birds are very good at hiding their illnesses, so by the time the symtems become obvious, it could be too late. Not trying to scare you or anything, but if you really love your birdies, then you’ll take them too a vet. I’d even get the male checked out even if he doesn’t seem sick because he might have gotten something contageous from the female, and it would be so awesome if you could catch it even earlier in him.

I hope everything works out alright,
-Leira :)
