While zinc is required to keep them healthy it is also highly toxic to them & mainly in forms of human food & large doses. Simply giving them too much zinc or continuing to offer human food with zinc of any kind will cause zinc poisoning. Zinc should only be offered in natural foods to them. A little out of human food is ok just don’t over do it. Read all labels of packet foods you buy & start looking for foods that are more natural. Generally because a mineral or a food is said to be good for a parrot, this doesn’t mean it can be offered freely or in human processed form. |

In the first place I did not say to you to research, I said that to Sweety916 Nor did I say you said you feed your bird human food. I really think you should read my post again before getting all defensive like that. I would however like to point out that you did state zinc is perfectly safe: Quote: Yes, it is perfectly safe and actually found in most cereals that humans eat.
which is what I was discussing mostly. You say you did your research? Where can I find where it state in research that zinc is perfectly safe please? I am interested in this. Don’t blow things out of proportion, I am simply saying what I know through research. Sweety916 If you can find organic foods without it then yes these are preferable. Otherwise a little human food is fine once in a while. Just don’t over do it with everything. |
