Convincing mom?
write her a letter saying things about how not messy they are and more positive things about cockatiels. i did this with my parents... its worked. they had the same feeling about budgies. and now i am getting one. =]

Convincing mom? hmmm....they are messy and u do have to clean after them but tell her mom that cockatiels are smart and once you get to know him they are like dogs...they can be taught to speak and can be trained to go on the owners hand...that they are very smart and beautiful and some times are kept as a decoration in the house...:)

Convincing mom? umm... decoration? decorations are not living animals. a glass figurine is a decoration, a picture is a decoration... but a living breathing animal should not be kept as a decoration. grrrr.
